Meet Milton

“As I pray for lasting peace in South Sudan, I'm determined to start building it now, creating a better and more peaceful future for my boys and my community. Together, we can be active agents of change and instruments that God can use to bring real transformation in our families and communities.”

I'm Mansuk Milton from South Sudan, married to Scovia Mansuk and blessed with two adorable boys, Jesse (5), and Jeremy who is turning (3) soon. I'm passionate about a lot of things - God, family, discipleship, leadership, peacebuilding, and women and youth empowerment all top my list.

In my free time, I enjoy watching football (soccer), reading, and spending quality family time, especially engaging in fun activities with my boys. Fish, beans, and rice rank as my all-time favorite dish!

Growing up in South Sudan was a nightmare. War and conflict defined my daily reality. My life has been profoundly shaped by the ravages of war, an experience that robbed me of my childhood and exposed me to the harsh realities of conflict—trauma, bitterness, brokenness, and hopelessness. However, everything changed one day when an American missionary arrived in our village. His youth ministry introduced me to Jesus, and through building a friendship, he imparted the truths of the gospel. I encountered Jesus in a profound way, experiencing a sudden surge of hope, healing, purpose, and immense peace.

Since that transformative encounter, my life has been a rollercoaster ride. I've discovered a renewed sense of purpose, and my relationships with family and others have been restored. Along my journey, God surrounded me with godly mentors and relationships that facilitated my growth into the person I am today. I've realized that my childhood challenges were part of a larger plan—a way for God to shape and position me to be a blessing to others. I stand as living proof that God can turn pain into purpose and despair into hope. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel, regardless of life's darkness. I firmly believe that God alone can mend broken hearts and transform lives in South Sudan. My gratitude extends to the American missionary who led me to Jesus, granting me a new life. Without him, I'd still be lost in darkness.

Now, I feel it's my turn to share this light with others. I aspire to be a channel of hope to the hopeless, a channel of healing to the broken, and a channel of love to the unloved, demonstrating that God's love is real and accessible to all who seek it.

Jeremiah 29:11 is my favorite verse, and it speaks to me on a personal level. It's a constant reminder that God has a plan for my life, and no matter what happens, He is always with me, guiding me, and protecting me.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." — Jeremiah 29:11

As a father of two boys and a refugee living in Uganda, my past no longer defines me; instead, it empowers me. Driven by unwavering faith in God and a desire to empower others, my experiences grant me a unique perspective and the ability to connect with those facing similar struggles. I’m grateful for every experience that guided me to where I stand today.

As I pray for lasting peace in South Sudan, I'm determined to start building it now, creating a better and more peaceful future for my boys and my community. Together, we can be active agents of change and instruments that God can use to bring real transformation in our families and communities.
